Green Giants

JC & Julia are having the fun experience of their first season of T-Ball at the Woodway Family Center.  We weren't sure how much they would like (or dislike) so we signed them up in the same age bracket and thankfully they are on the same team.  Their pediatrician is one of the assistant coaches and he can make the kids laugh up a storm.  He had them wearing rally caps one night.  Really, rally caps in T-Ball?  They loved it.  They are the (Heart of Texas Pediatrics) Green Giants.  They voted and that was amazing to watch them vote by raising their hand.  They have a cheer which I bet you could guess-- "Ho, ho, ho- Green Giants!!!"

JC & Julia both love the action of the sport but sometimes tire out with left-field or 3rd base.  At their 2nd practice, Coach had to talk to JC about sharing the play of the ball and only going after balls that were headed to him.  He was chasing balls everywhere (and getting them first).  Poor guy, he was kind of bummed to not be involved in every play.  He's adjusted well now and seems to really have fun.  Of course, he loves playing 1st base and hitting still, but he's gotta learn his place in the game.  He bats left-handed and throws right.  He's even hit a few times right-handed.  A true switch-hitter I guess.

Julia was old enough to play Coach's pitch, however she & JC have buddied up in a lot of practice and plays.  It's been great for them together.  Julia did wear a jean mini-skirt for team pictures which was her choice.  She has not been allowed to play in jean skirts however, so we'll see how long she lasts in this sport.  She's a great hitter and has scored two outs in the season.  She told her coach the other day while she was up at bat, "I can hit a golf ball further than I can hit this baseball."  Like I said, we'll see about her...

Jetta & her friends, they are the Cheerleaders!
