Egg Hunt, Numero Uno

Well, it's official, the kids have been to their first egg hunt of the Easter season. On Saturday, we went to church which really confused J.C. because he could not understand going to church on any other day than "Church day," also known as Sunday at our house.

At 10:15, we rolled up and checked in at the registration table. Then we did our guessing in the "Guess How Many" jars. Boy, we were way off! Good thing though, we didn't need any extra candy. They had a display area set up for picture-taking. There were props and the kids put on bunny ears. Then we moved on to the Pre-K area, where there was an egg toss (hard-boiled). The kids really liked this and it was funny how one kid in the line would get stuck with 8-9 eggs at one time to toss.

We came inside for snack and watched the older kids hop in doing the Bunny Hop. J.C. loved singing this song over and over on Saturday afternoon. We heard a story about the gospels according to jelly beans, then the kids lined up for the egg hunting. We headed over to the new outside playground and there were SO MANY plastic eggs. The kids all filled their baskets to capacity and there were still eggs left on the ground. Kids couldn't pick up any more because if they tried, the eggs in their basket fell out! Then everyone started playing on the playground equipment and I was stuck carrying the overflowing baskets. Michael Honza, the youth minister, offered to take my picture because he thought it was me funny standing there holding all the baskets. We came home soon after and Jetta cried because she wanted to eat more candy! After naptime, the kids opened their eggs and it was fun to watch them scatter for candy.
