I walked into the living room tonight and Julia was sitting criss-cross applesauce flapping her legs on the floor and she was smiling big and asked me, "What color is yours today?"
"What color is my what?" I asked back unsteadily.
"Your butterfly, what color is your butterfly today?"
(light goes off!! She's doing butterfly stretches from gymnastics.)
I said "Oh, butterfly stretches-- cute!"
(still flapping her "wings") "What color is yours today?" still smiling.
"Mine is orange and brown."
"That's nice. Ask me what color my butterfly is."
"Oh yeah-- what color is your butterfly today?"
"Purple-- and pink-- and silver-- with SPARKLES! Isn't that a pretty butterfly?"
"Yes!" I'm smiling, she's so cute sitting there. (still flapping)
